Sundry weekend contests

Now that it's 7:15 on Sunday night, Henry is approximately ten short minutes from finishing another fast and furious weekend. Yesterday his buddies Bryce and Carter came over for a play date, and today we ventured down to the National Portrait Gallery to let our little guy peregrinate in the huge atrium. The documentation follows.

I want to give special thanks to the kind gentleman in the background of this photo for being so nice and for temporarily entertaining our little man. Henry very much enjoys watching images of himself on our home computer, and given his limited understanding of personal space, he made a beeline for this guy's laptop, yelling "Bee-Bee? Bee-Bee?"

I love my Christmas presents but what I REALLY love...

No offense to all those generous gift-givers out there but Henry has gotten so much joy out of the boxes in which his presents arrived. I think "box filled with tissue paper" is going to be #1 on his 2011 Christmas wish list. Actually, he will be a sophisticated two-year-old by then so he will probably ask for an iPad.

I also added a silly picture of the two of us playing with a piece of tupperware, which is a close second on the list of favorite toys behind empty boxes!

Christmas 2010

Happy New Year to you and yours, and to anyone else who happens to read this blog. We just returned from a white, wonderful, whirlwind Christmas vacation in Jackson, Wyoming. Here are some shots and commentary from the trip.

Henry helped us pack, in his undies and slippers:

Christmas Dinner at Jim and Carolyn's house. Henry was pretty miserable that night after an early Christmas morning trip to the ER. His left ear was infected for the fourth or fifth time in his life, and he loudly and willingly informed us of said infection from 4 to 7 a.m. on Christmas morning. Fortunately he rebounded quickly, probably because I wore his hat:

This kid clearly suffers from a lack of attention.
